The assault resulted in the temporary closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the injured during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
